Sun and Accenture Set Up SOA Center

Bangalore Site of New Joint Development

Accenture and Sun are creating a SOA development center in Bangalore, Incia. It will concentrate on developing secure identity-management and SOA-based solutions, Alastair MacWilson, Managing Director, Accenture Global Security Practice said.

The employees from both the companies will work at the new center. The solutions that will be created there will utilize Sun's software suite and Solaris Operating System. This initiative will focus on specific market demands from niche market segments, MacWilson said.

"The India delivery centers have emerged as a hub for innovation within Accenture, be it in terms of developing industry solutions or asset engineering work," Sandeep Arora, Lead Executive, Accenture Delivery Centerfor Technology, India.

Don Grantham, Executive Vice President, Global Sales and Services, Sun Microsystems said, "Enterprises across the world are looking to open source and open standards as they architect for Web 2.0 and the next evolution of SOAs".
